Alternative Technology and Secure Computing Extend Education and Channel Enablement Campaign With Messaging Security Webinar
Security experts discuss hottest threats in messaging security and how VARs can address them
Englewood, CO., September 27, 2007— Secure Computing Corporation, a leading enterprise gateway security company, and Alternative Technology, a leading specialty distributor of thin-client/server-based computing, edge infrastructure, virtualization, and government-approved security solutions, continue their channel education and sales enablement program, holding a Messaging Gateway Security Webinar, to be broadcast live on Oct. 3, 2007.
“A short time ago, enterprises had to worry about their email systems letting in hacks, trojans and mass viruses that were more of a nuisance and productivity loss to the organization, than a serious financial and security threat,” said Chris Nickerson, director of security services for Alternative Technology. “Today, most targeted attacks are conducted by criminals with a profit motive, who utilize networks and distributed hosts to disable company infrastructures, steal intellectual property or access customer information for use in future attacks.”
“As the threats have gotten more sophisticated, so have the needs of enterprises that now look to a VAR for a lot more than just access to security products” said Elan Winkler, director of product marketing for Secure Computing. “VARs can address this growing market need by providing a more complete messaging security solution to their customers including knowledge and best practices, regular training, and products that give the highest ROI.”
The webinar will be hosted by Alternative Technology’s senior security consultant and manager of security services - Chris Nickerson, and Elan Winkler, director of product marketing for Secure Computing.
The webinar will educate attendees on the latest threats in malware, phishing, viruses, image spam, and outbound data leakage. Attending channel partners will hear how they can improve their customers’ compliance and reduce their risk of critical company data loss by following best practices and deploying state-of-the-art messaging security solutions.
Alternative Technology has dedicated a Web site to VARs and their security education, with links to security industry information sources, including Webinars, white papers, demos and training opportunities.
