The Packeteer Specialist - Level I course is the first level of training in the Packeteer Certification Training program. The aim of this 3-day course is to develop basic knowledge and skills sufficient to operate an installed PacketShaper on a day-to-day basis. The course is instructor-led and provides an effective mix of operational theory and hands-on performance-based exercises.

After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

• Describe the function/purpose, benefits, features and capabilities of Packeteer’s PacketShaper
• Install and configure the PacketShaper
• Classify network traffic
• Gain visibility into network and application behavior
• Control network traffic
• Compress network traffic
• Maintain the PacketShaper
• Troubleshoot network traffic problems
• Plan a PacketShaper deployment
• Implement a PacketShaper deployment
• Manage network application performance using the PacketShaper.
