Alternative Technology to distribute Wireless Monitor to Value Added Resellers
Denver, Colorado/Walnut, California, November 5, 2002 — Alternative Technology, North America’s premiere Value Added Distributor, and ViewSonic® Corporation, a worldwide Visual Technologies™ leader, today announced a strategic partnership enabling Value Added Resellers across the United States and Canada to sell ViewSonic’s wireless monitor, the airpanel 100 to the Small-, Medium- and Enterprise-business markets.
Already one of North America’s largest distributors of Server Based Computing products, the addition of ViewSonic’s airpanel 100 to Alternative Technology’s comprehensive offering will enable it’s vast network of Value Added Resellers to realize an immediate benefit by addressing the needs of dynamic work environments including healthcare and manufacturing/logistics.
ViewSonic’s wireless monitor provides business users with access to data, when and where they need it most. Targeted at business professionals, the airpanel 100 is an extension of the office personal computer, freeing users from their desks while still providing access to information that resides on their office PC, corporate servers or the web, by offering a combination of full screen viewing with the latest in portable wireless computing, e-mail, web access and server based enterprise applications over a wireless LAN or WAN connection.

At 2.5 pounds, the airpanel 100 is a lightweight, expandable handheld mobile communication and information management product. The device features the "instant on" Microsoft Windows CE .NET operating system, a 206MHz Intel SA-1110 CPU, 32MB of Intel StrataFlash and 128MB of memory. The airpanel 100 leverages customers’ computing investments with its ability to support multiple wireless connectivity options back to an individual PC and also supports multimedia capabilities, including Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5, Windows Media Player, and JAVA Virtual Machine. The device is backed by a one-year warranty on parts and labor.
