This position uses business process engineering techniques, develops technical solutions and management processes to achieve overall business objectives by means of implementing systems or solutions based on the analysis of customer needs.
Essential (primary) Functions of the Position
Provides technical direction, diagnostic expertise, assistance and training to field service personnel to maximize revenue and customer satisfaction; develops and implements engineering specifications and solutions for large, complex installations primarily through visits to customer sites; follows through with customers to ensure proper function of complex systems; provides solutions to technical problems and troubleshoots in the field as necessary; keeps abreast of company's latest products and services.
Typical projects include: Active direction migration of organizations from 500 to 100,000 users; Exchange migrations from 5.5 to 2003; Citrix Metaframe Upgrades or Rollouts; Infrastructure assessments; and Router or firewall configurations
Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required
In addition to the skill requirements listed below, this position requires the following:
- Strong background and hands on experience with Citrix.
- Strong networking background and proficiency with all Microsoft applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and a strong customer focus.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to manager multiple projects.
Level IV
Knowledge: Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Some barriers to entry exist at this level (i.e. dept/peer review).
Job Complexity: Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Internal and external contacts often pertain to company plans and objectives.
Supervision: Determines methods and procedures on new assignments, and may provide guidance to other personnel.
Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience. In some companies, the requirement will be less. At this level, graduate coursework may be desirable.
Working Conditions
It is a fast paced, highly fluid environment. There are frequent deadlines, and pressure can be heavy at times. Travel will be required up to 50% of the time.
